Goa has often been described as paradise for beach and party lovers. However, the spectacular sandy beaches and chilled out beach vibes along with a tinge of spirituality is what makes Gokarna the Goa of the south.

A travelers delight, and an international favourite, Gokarna has all that you would want for a peaceful and low key beach holiday. Hippies and beach lovers flock to this destination, for looking beyond the yearly dose of Goa. With four pretty beaches, inclusive of one which is named as Om, rightly so, as sands somehow are twisted in a way to look like the outline of the word om.

Looking to take a trip, here is how the weather in Gokarna is around the year:

Summer (March to May): The summer season is unbearably hot with temperatures being anywhere between 38 and 45 degrees Celsius between these three months. Make sure you put enough sunscreen spattered on you so that you do not get on with the heat. If you do take some precautions, you will surely be able to enjoy the fun as well as the spirituality.

Monsoon (June to September): If you are looking forward to a trip to Gokarna in the Monsoon, make sure you check the weather updates first. Gokarna, being a coastal city in the Konkan region sees ample amount of rainfall throughout the season. While temperatures do fall to quite an extent, rains do seem to cause some trouble. However, if you love the rains, and do not mind being soaked a little, Gokarna is all yours to visit.

Winter (October-February): Winters are another good time to pay a visit the beautiful Gokarna. The humid weather conditions take a backseat and the region remains pleasant throughout these months. Winter also happens to be the peak tourist month as the temperatures are on the pleasant side.

Places to visit in Gokarna

Right from the beachy delights like the Om beach, Kudle Beach, and Gokarna beach to the famous Mahabaleshwara Temple. If you want to see the beautiful Shiv Statue, make sure you visit the Murudeshwara Temple. Just about an hour away are the mighty Yana caves you might want to visit. There is a temple too between the rocks. Make sure you pay a visit.
