Auli is one of the most popular tourist destinations situated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is centered in the Garhwal Himalayas at an altitude of 2,500 metres.

The weather in Auli remains cool and pleasant all through the year. The average maximum temperature of Auli  is 20° Celsius and the average minimum is 2° Celsius.

Best places to visit in Auli includes Auli Artificial Lake, Auli Ropeway, Joshimath, Gurso Bugyal, Nanda Devi Peak, Chattrakund and many more. Some of the most scenic locations of the Himalayas, these tourist attractions in Auli are the best offbeat experience that one can have here in the deep reaches of Uttarakhand. Known to be the new emerging Skiing destination of the country, many other of Auli tourist places have found an immense amount of popularity among the many visitors who find their way to this snowy heaven every year.

It is considered that December to February is the best time to visit Auli for skiing. While, May to November is the best season in Auli for outdoor trips and sightseeing.

Summer Season (March-June): Summers begin in mid-March while June is the hottest month in Auli with a maximum temperature of 22°C wherein the feel like temperature is around 27°C. Nights are relatively cooler with minimums around 20°C. This is the best time for outdoor trips and activities.

Monsoon Season (July-October): Monsoon begins in July with moderate to heavy showers and goes on till October. During this time, the maximums touch 15°C while minimums are recorded around 10°C. If you plan to visit Auli during this time, make sure to carry light woolen clothes and rain coats.

Winter Season (November-February): Auli gets very chilly during winter with heavy snowfall. During this time, the maximums are around six degrees while minimums touch sub-zero levels. During this time, heavy woolens and warm clothes are required.

Auli is also a base to few winter as well summer treks and are both thrilling and alluring. It is a combination that no adventure lover can resist.

If you plan to reach Auli by air, then Jolly Grant airport is the nearest one to this place. It is then easily accessible via cabs. Rishikesh which is 262 km away from Auli is the nearest railway station to reach the destination. The distance thereafter can be covered by a cab.

Auli is well connected to all other major destinations of Uttarakhand by road. One can find state-run buses from Haridwar/Rishikesh that operate till Joshimath, from where, one can either drive in a cab or take a ropeway to Auli. Taxis from Haridwar and Dehradun are also available and will eventually direct to Auli.
