Housed in the Kangra district, McLeod Ganj is a hill station near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. The town is famous especially for being a spiritual getaway and pilgrimage for the Buddhists. It is home to the 14th Dalai Lama of the Buddhists, Lama Tenzin Gyatso.

Summer season (March-June)
This is the season of summers when the temperature ranges from 22°C to 38°C. This period is considered as a good time to follow your interests in the adventure activities like trekking and paragliding. Sightseeing can be enjoyed the most in this period.
Monsoon season (July-September)
The monsoon months bring in heavy rainfall and this period is not considered appropriate for travelling as landslides are common. September is beautiful with the view of lush green surroundings for the tourists. July and August are the rainiest months foe the town with above 800 mm of rain on an average. Towards the end of September, rains start vacating and by October, the autumn season commences. During this period, tourist remain on the lower side thus, making it a perfect time for people who are on a budget and need peace.
Winter season (November-February)
These are the coldest months in McLeod Ganj with the temperature remain below 5°C and at times even reach very close to the freezing point. Mountains are laden with heavy snow and this period is considered best for the visitors especially honeymooners.
Few of the most eminent and religiously significant monasteries in India are located here, including the Namgyal Monastery and Tsuglagkhang, where the spiritual leader Dalai Lama resides. Tourists must also visit the scenic Dal Lake and Triund, which are apt for quiet picnics.
