“Rome was a poem pressed into service as a city.” When Anatole Broyard, the American writer said those words about the city which has great history with it, he wasn’t too wrong. The only city in the world which evokes the past in the best possible way. You realize, there is immense beauty in ruins when you visit the city of Rome.

Step into any of the archaeological sites and you will be taken back in time. Believe me, you will see it all, right from the rise to the fall of the Roman Empire. You will see flashes of Nero, Pompey, Julius Caesar and you will be transported to the days when the Roman Forum was in one piece and the centre of Ancient Rome.

The churches, oh, the churches are simply spectacular. You wouldn’t want to miss even one of them. A day will pass by in a jiffy by going from one Piazza to the other. You will walk into the cobbled lanes and every corner will spell history. After you are too tired by taking long walks, step into a Roman restaurant and enjoy food at its best, and wine, don’t forget the wine.

The strong smell of Roman Coffee from a nearby café will force you to have a good cup of coffee. I must tell you, it is going to be simply amazing. You can spend an entire day in Rome doing nothing but staring into the magnificence of the city. The baroque fountains, and palazzos are definitely worth a capture.

The ancient capital of the world is proud of all that it has and why wouldn’t it be, it takes a lifetime to be able to finish the detailed version of Roman history.

While history may be the pillar of Rome, the city is modern in its peculiar ways. The city is relaxed but the lifestyle is more cosmopolitan than quite a few cities in Italy.
