Lansdowne is an elegant hilly station that is a short distance away from Kotdwar. It is a clean and pretty hill station in the Pauri Garhwal District of Uttarakhand.
It is one of those destinations that serve the purpose of giving the brain and body an escape from the daily 9-6 office grind routine.
It is a place with scenic view of mountain ranges and snow-capped peaks that justifies the reason as to why nature lovers should embark on a journey to this destination.
This beautiful hill station witnesses pleasant summers and freezing winters. March to November is usually considered to be the best time to visit this place. Summers are pretty enjoyable because of the pleasant temperature, while the chill in spine can be felt during December to February. Not only this, monsoon too accounts for pretty good visit and makes the place look quite fresh and amazing.

Summers (March- June): Summers are really pleasant and warm; they are the best time for trek lovers and those seeking respite from the summer heat. The temperature during peak summer time is around 30 degree Celsius.
Monsoon (July-September): Lansdowne is known for sudden rainfall and the temperature remains around 28 degrees Celsius during monsoon months of June to September. Hence, those who love the freshness and the mediocre rain should plan a trip here.
Winters (October-February): Lansdowne has a freezing winter season with intermittent snowfall. The temperature remains between sub-zeros to minus 15 Degree Celsius during the winter months of October to March.
The hill station also comprises of a small artificial lake where one can enjoy boating, and one should not miss out on walking to the Tip- in-Top from where one can see spectacular views of the Shivalik Range, also en route sighting of St Mary’s Church is a bonus. In Lansdowne shopping for leather products at Javed Boot House can also be a great experience. Apart from this, like other hill stations in Uttarakhand, Lansdowne is a perfect bird watching destination and is an excellent base for some nice hikes in the hills.
