Nandi Hills also known as Nandi Betta is an ancient hill in Karnataka. Located about 60 km away from Bengaluru, this is a well-known holiday spot for tourists. Once used as the summer retreat of Tipu Sultan, Nandi Hills is home to shrines and monuments and is surrounded by mesmerizing views, making this place no less than a hidden paradise.

Monsoon (June - August)
The place receives moderate rainfall, and hence, the terrain remains drenched. Roads are usually slippery. Highly recommended to carry an umbrella and pack a sweatshirt for the breeze that comes along with the showers.
Winters (September - February)
The ideal time to enjoy the surreal beauty of Nandi Hills is during Winters. The weather is pleasant around this time. Also, the best time to find out a family picnic spot. The temperature in winters is between 10 to 32 Degree Celsius.
Summers (March - May)
The weather here remains pleasant in Summers as well. The temperature during March to May ranges between 23 to 40 Degree Celsius. A mild summer breeze keeps blowing all over the place. Although advisable to carry along only loose cotton clothing as the temperatures might peak at times.
Places to visit in and around Nandi Hills
Tipu’s Drop
It is located on a hilltop on a cliff which lies 600 m above the elevated ground. One gets a beautiful view of all the hill ranges from the hilltop.
Tipu's Summer Residence
This is a historical palace that was Tipu Sultan’s Summer retreat. The construction is mainly of wood and displays brilliantly carved arches and pillars along with the beautifully painted walls and ceilings.
Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple
Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple is a beautiful temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the few antique temples in India which is very well preserved.
Amrita Sarovar
The lake is a major source of water supply in this region. The shimmering waters of this lake after nightfall is a must see.
