Wait of winter is becoming longer for Mumbai

December 26, 2023 11:22 AM | Skymet Weather Team

We are in the last week of December and still, there is no sign of a winter chill over Mumbai and the suburbs. A minimum temperature as well as maximum temperatures are above normal. In fact, day temperatures are in the mid-thirties. We do not expect the temperatures to drop anytime soon. As south easterly warm winds will continue for at least the next 5 days.

A trough is persisting over Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining parts of Konkan and Goa. Although, this tough is not capable of giving any weather activity, but it is not allowing the cold winds to reach over Mumbai. There are chances of light scattered rain over parts of Madhya Maharashtra Vidarbha and Marathwada around January 2nd and 3rd. After this weather activity, the wind direction is expected to change from Southeast to north and Northeast leading to a drop in temperatures over Mumbai and suburbs. So, we can say that winter chill will be felt by Mumbaikars in the first week of January.
