Fog in Delhi, North India to return

December 26, 2013 2:09 PM |

Weather in North India could again become conducive for dense fog from this weekend, December 28 onwards. According to our forecast, winds that are northwesterly at the moment could change or slow down again as two successive Western Disturbances are expected for the next four to five days leading up to new year.

Fog in North India is expected from late Saturday night or next morning onwards, impacting normal life and hampering air, rail operations. The slowing down of winds, rise in relative humidity levels and low minimum temperatures (below 10 degrees) are the conditions which will be crucial for the intensification of fog in North India during this period.

Fog in East India over east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar that usually hits rail operations during this time of the year is better at the moment. But, the eastward movement of the weather system from Jammu & Kashmir in the coming days could lead to intensification of fog in the region.
