Delhi recorded the lowest maximum temperature of the season at 12.9°C on Friday. This temperature is almost 8°C below the normal maximum of 20.8 for the month of January. The Safdarjung observatory in Delhi witnessed a significant fall in day temperature after recording 17.7°C on Thursday.

Clouds associated with the Western Disturbance and the cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh kept the sunshine away from the national capital which led to a fall of almost 5 degrees on Friday. According to our forecast, tomorrow, similar 'below normal' day temperature could be experienced in Delhi and other parts of northwest plains as well as rain and clouds would continue to persist till noon. Clear sky post noon could push the day temperature slightly upwards from Friday's records.

Delhi has not witnessed such low a maximum temperature till now sincer the one on 22nd of December this season. The Safdarjung observatory had registered 15.9°C as maximum on the day.
