Weather for Delhi: Delhi to have no major weather activity as it hosts the first semifinals of WorldT20 between England and New Zealand.
The temperatures around the start of the match will be around 28°C and it will gradually fall to 24°C.
There will be few patches of cloud but won’t do any interruptions. Winds from North and North West direction with a speed of 10-15kmph will flow.
The humidity will be low, around 30%-35%, making it a comfortable playing environment.
Match Preview: While every Indian fan will be waiting relentlessly for Thursday when mighty West Indies takes on India, tonight another battle will be fought on the pitch as England takes on New Zealand in Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
New Zealand, who is yet to win a global tournament, looks tough on papers. A victory would also be a perfect tribute to late Martin Crowe as some of the cricketers like Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor and Grant Elliott have shared a close bond with the former national skipper.
Having said that the New Zealand side is more sparky, England has a formidable and very well rounded team. They have more experience in this sort of crucial semifinals scenario as they faced a similar situation back in 2010 when they lifted their maiden World T20.
With the likes of Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Eoin Morgan (captain) would be confident when they take on New Zealand. Delhi’s pitch has always benefitted the slower bowlers and with spinners like Ben Stokes, Eoin Morgan and Moeen Ali in the English side, things might just edge a bit more in England’s favour.
When asked that whether Kane Williamson could outdo Virat Kohli or Joe Root in the semi-final on Wednesday, this is what he had to say, “I would love to do that. They (Kohli and Root) have been playing brilliantly. I love both. Outstanding cricketers and they have been fantastic for a long period of time. Watching these two bat and perform in the way they have been performing, you can learn a lot.”
Subtle yet a very underhanded comment on whomever it may be Kane Williamson and his team is ready of any challenge.
