Updated at 09:50 AM: While rains in Bengaluru did wreak havoc over the residents of Bengaluru, and it may have costed KKR the ticket to the qualifier, showers reduced at the right time giving the Kolkata Knight Riders a chance to play a six over game.
The D/L method was used wherein Kolkata had to score 48 runs in six overs. Using the opportunity at its fullest, the Knight Riders scored a whopping 48 runs in a mere 5.2 overs only.
With this, the Knight Riders have qualified in the tournament and will play the Qualifier 2 tomorrow against the Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This match will decide as to which team is going to play the Rising Pune Supergiant at the finals on May 21.
However, rains may visit Bengaluru tomorrow and cause slight disruptions during the match.

Published at 12:00 PM: The Indian Premier League has now entered its last leg. There have been some happy moments, while there have also been some disappointing ones. After scores of outstanding and nail biting clashes, the top four have finally been declared.
While the Royal Challengers Bangalore ended up being at the bottom with just three wins and 10 losses, Gujarat Lions with the second last place have been no different. Delhi Daredevils and the Kings XI Punjab just lost a couple of good matches resulting in their exit from the tournament.
On the other hand, both Kolkata Knight Riders and The Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to be in the top four. It has been the Mumbai Indians and the Rising Pune Supergiant who have been just amazing throughout the match.
Yesterday, the next-door neighbor of the Mumbai Indians, Rising Pune Supergiant had the match under control all throughout at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In the Qualifier 1, Pune beat Mumbai by 20 runs making their place in the final.
Lightning and thunderstorm status across Bengaluru
Today, the eliminator round will be played between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The team that wins will meet the Mumbai Indians for the qualifier 2 which will decide which team will lock horns with Rising Pune Supergiant at the final showdown.
However, it seems like rain gods may not let the smooth beginning of the match happen after all. As per weathermen, some rain and thundershowers are expected over Bengaluru which may affect the toss and a part of the beginning of the game.
However, total washout is not likely as rains will take a backseat as the night progresses.
