It was a perfect morning for the city of Bengaluru and rain gods were far away from the garden city. It looked sunny and well, the day was full of excitement and stress for cricket fans. After all, it was their home team Royal Challengers Bengaluru playing against the next door neighbours Sunrisers Hyderabad.
A Warner vs Kohli clash was awaited, the ones rushing to the Chinnaswamy Stadium decided to leave their homes early as they didn’t want to be a part of the everyday traffic chaos. While it did rain in Bengaluru for quite some time, an assurance of the rain clouds going away was enough for the cricket fan excited enough.
However, on the contrary, the unpredictable weather had something else in store for the cricket fan and both the RCB and the SRH. The rains began exactly during the time of the toss and hence the toss was delayed. The waiting continued and it felt like the rain gods would take a break, but it seems like they had already written the fate of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the form of big fat raindrops pouring over the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Kohli and his boys were at the bottom of the table and this was the game which would have given them those two points as a lifeline, had they won. Unfortunately, the dream has almost been shattered. Here, a point gained is a point lost.
The dream of Gayle and Kohli hitting boundaries on every ball remained a dream itself and with the form RCB is in, the wish of a victory in this IPL seems to be fading far away. While on other days, the blame could have been shifted on someone else, this time it is the rain to be blamed.
