IPL 2016 Qualifier 2: GL locks horn with SRH in a hot and humid Delhi

Inside - IPL - May 27

Weather Preview: This entire week Delhi observed a pleasant weather but on the morning of May 27 the city experienced a dusty start. This was due to a sudden change in the wind direction from easterly, southeasterly to south westerly. This sudden change in the wind pattern along with warm and humid winds coming from Bay of Bengal has made the entire capital extremely humid.

Temperature of the city will be around 35°C on May 27 and the digits will be similar when it comes to terms of humidity. With the low levels of humidity and moderate temperatures, the playing conditions will be of slight discomfort.

Match Preview: This could be a debut that Gujarat Lions must have dreamt of if they snatch a win here today at Delhi’s Firoz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi when they go on to play the second qualifier against the rock solid Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Suresh Raina led Gujarat Lions is one such team that was always amongst the top four in this year. They almost made it to the finals in the first qualifiers when they played against AB De Villiers. It was De Villiers who snatched an assured win away from the hands of Gujarat Lions in the first qualifiers.

After an abysmal end to the group stages and still making it to the final four to play the playoffs Sunrisers Hyderabad has proved that they are a team that are not to be joked around no matter what. And we got to witness their unperturbed and strong will in the eliminator a night before against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Majorly it will be a contest between Sunrisers Hyderabad’s pacers and batsmen of Gujarat Lions. A new team will be crowned champions this season as none of the three teams left in the tournament has won the trophy in their previous engagement in IPL.
