IND vs AUS: Rain in Ranchi may cause slight game interruption

March 19, 2017 1:33 PM | Skymet Weather Team

MS Dhoni’s hometown Ranchi has proved to be a good luck charm for India this time. The first ever test hosted by Jharkhand’s capital has been turning out to be quite an interesting affair. From Kohli’s shoulder injury while fielding to Steve Smith and Saha’s awkward tumble, the test match has been in the news and we aren’t complaining.

Weather conditions in Ranchi have been on the game’s side with sunshine wishing both the teams good luck on all three days. However, as per weathermen at Skymet, rain gods have decided to be slightly mischievous and some short spells of showers are expected over the capital city of Jharkhand during the next few hours.

Due to these rains, the fourth day of the match, some interruptions are likely. However, the spells will not last for a long time which is why both the teams won’t have to sit at the Pavilion for a long time.

While the first day seemed like Australia’s, Team India has been able to bounce back quite well on the third and the fourth day. Despite Kohli’s poor performance, the team has managed to score 471/6 against Australia’s 451/10 resulting in a 20-run lead. Both Pujara and Saha have been doing wonders with the former at the score of 181.

Who takes away the lead in this match is something we will have to wait and watch.
