The stage has been set for the Champions Trophy 2017 semifinals. The four chosen ones are all set to lock horns against each other. While Pakistan will clash with England in the first semis, India is all set to battle against underdogs Bangladesh.

Weather dominated the series this season and it seemed like rain gods had conspired against Australia pacing way for Bangladesh for the semifinals. But nonetheless, we must appreciate the efforts of Bangladesh putting up gutsy fight against New Zealand and clinching series away from them.

On June 15, India is all set to play against Bangladesh at Edgbaston and secure a place in the finals. The match today between England and Pakistan will decide who will be the first finalist and who goes home.

While winning against Bangladesh will not be a big deal for India, losing out to this team will bring back that decade old bad memory. The pain of losing against Bangladesh in the World Cup 2007 has left scars in every Indian fan’s mind.

The images of Tamim Iqbal smoking legendary Zaheer Khan for a six still haunt the fans.

Over the past years, the rivalry between India and Bangladesh has taken an ugly turn. Blame it all on 2015 World Cup quarterfinal. In fact, Bangladeshi fans had then accused the ICC of favoring India as umpire’s decision didn’t go their way.

Things turned sour thereafter and ever since then, Bangladeshi fans have not been able to keep their calm. One such example can be seeing doing rounds on social media wherein a tiger with a Bangladesh flag superimposed on it attacking a dog, which has an Indian flag superimposed on it.

Prior to this, was Taskin Ahmed holding M.S. Dhoni’s severed head ahead of a match in WC-T20 2016, which certainly did not go down well with Indian fans.

As a result, the clash between India and Bangladesh has become highly charged, where losing out will not go down well for both the sides, particularly Bangladesh which is looking for that one chance to take the revenge.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli has assured his fans of putting up a top show against Bangladesh but the other side has remained calm. Die-hard Indian Cricket fans will look forward to this unusual clash.

As for the weather gods tomorrow, they will stay far away from Edgbaston giving both India and Bangladesh a full-fledged clash. Hopefully, Virat Kohli and company will live upto the expectations of the fans and will thrash the underdogs to proceed to the finals of the Champions Trophy.

Let us wish the Indian cricket team good luck and cheer for India's win at Edgbaston tomorrow!
