Champions Trophy 2017: Rain in London may hinder IND vs SL

June 8, 2017 2:20 PM | Skymet Weather Team

It looks like the Champions Trophy and the rainfall activities have developed an unusual relationship. Rainfall activities have refused to take a backseat. Rain gods keep making appearances over almost all the matches that have been played in the various locations of England.

While these rains have been giving special appearances over some games, others have suffered a washout. In fact, yesterday’s match between Australia and Bangladesh bore the brunt of the rains in Kennington. The first match of Australia was also unfortunate enough to be abandoned. It looks like rains have jinxed Australia’s presence at the Champions Trophy 2017.

India have also not been completely lucky as the first match against Pakistan witnessed some hindrances due to the rains.

Now, India is all set to lock horns with Sri Lanka today. This match will be played at The Oval Stadium in London. As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rains may once again play spoilsport at the match. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM (IST) which means 10:30 AM local time, rains may occur in between the match.

Live status of lightning and rain over London

While these rains will not be a major hindrance towards the game and only slight interruption is likely, the Duckworth Lewis method may come into play. However, the possibility of a total washout does not look very likely.
