Day temperatures in Delhi to fall as northwesterly winds sweep across India; rain likely in east, NE

Day temperatures in Delhi would tumble back into early thirties after scaling up to 36 degree yesterday, the 2nd of April. Temperatures in India in its central peninsular parts would continue to remain in late thirties. Morning temperatures would fall a bit in almost the entire country, as northwesterly winds would prevail during the next couple of days. Rain is expected at one or two places in Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Andhra Pradesh. Rain would continue to occur in northeastern states during the next 48 hours.

Pleasant temperatures in Delhi would be witnessed during the next couple of days as the recent maximum rise to 36 degrees will fall to around 31 degrees. Night temperatures will also fall a bit in Delhi during this period making morning hours cool. There could be warmth during afternoons but strong northwesterly winds would keep the day pleasant and charming.

Chances of rain in Delhi are less now during the next two days thus dry weather would continue till next week. Temperatures in Delhi during the day would rise gradually till the weekend. Sky will remain mainly clear in the days to come.

Day temperatures in late thirties in India in its central peninsular region would remain stable but night temperatures could fall a bit to make mornings better due to the reach of northwesterly winds in the next two days.

Some parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and north Karnataka are witnessing hot and uncomfortable days where temperatures would continue to be recorded at around 40 degrees. Marathwada and Vidarbha in the region are facing one of the worst droughts in last four decades.

Vidarbha could receive light rain along with some parts of Andhra Pradesh including the capital Hyderabad during the next 24 hours. A trough (a region of intensified moist winds) of low pressure area from Rajasthan to south Tamil Nadu across west Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka persists in these areas.

Rain is expected in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa as a trough of low pressure area runs from Assam to Orissa across Gangetic West Bengal. Rain could be experienced at one or two places here. But there could be rainfall at more places in northeast region due the same trough.

Make your feet smell sweet and not sweaty this summer

As a rule, pack away all of your winter footwear before it can leave your feet with a room-clearing odor and bring out your summer sandals that are still hibernating somewhere. You could be an avid jogger, a biker, or a gym workout lover, in all these cases, chances are that you have that one pair of shoes you wear each time you go, and as often as you wash your feet before or after a workout, you come out with pungent foot odor. If these statements are true for you, then you must start getting ready to deal with the sweaty and itchy troubles of the summer months.

The reason your shoes get more and more pungent is due to the cumulative effect of each workout. To stop the smell you need to eliminate, or at least reduce, some of the bacteria. In order to help you do so, here’s a short list of suggestions.

1) Wash your feet thoroughly with soap and water, and then dry thoroughly. Drying them is an equally important step as washing them. If you put on your shoes with wet feet, they can develop bacterial growth and serious infections.

2) Change your shoes and socks frequently, and never use the same pair of socks more than once. Don’t be stingy, buy a pair of cotton summer socks for each day in the summer months so as to keep your feet clean. Wear thick absorbent cotton socks which soak the sweat and do not leave your feet stinking.

3) Wear ‘breathable’ shoes made from materials like canvas, leather or mesh, and avoid plastic or nylon which do not absorb perspiration. Great sports shoes are New Balance and ASICS. Also do not forget to get a second pair of shoes, and rotate.

4) Let your shoes sit somewhere they can breathe. Leave them out in open or under the sun so they’re fresh again. Leaving shoes in a gym bag after a workout helps to feed bacteria and create an even smellier environment for you and for people around you.

5) Wear shoes only when required. At work, or at the gym or for biking. Switch to smart and fashionable sandals or flip flops for the rest of the day.

6) Sandals let your feet breathe a little more than boots but they still can trap sweat and dirt, which doesn’t exactly lead to a pleasant-smelling situation. But since you are most likely to wear them without socks the odor problem might not disappear still. The trick is to keep your feet fresh even while wearing sandals. Jessica Zenspa Refreshed Energising Ginger Foot Spray delivers odor-killing ginger oil which freshens and cools your feet quickly while it deodorizes.

7) Try feet wipes. These wipes are a serious lifesaver.  Not only do they keep your feet clean and refreshed, but they also hydrate cuticles, smooth and moisturize skin, and completely deodorize your feet.

8 ) A long day on your feet is tiring enough, but if you are wearing sandals all day it can be even worse.  When your feet are tired and sore, there isn’t anything better than coming home and smoothing on some cooling foot lotion. The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Lotion is perfect for summer thanks to Community Trade peppermint oil, which delivers a cooling sensation to tired toes, leaving feet feeling refreshed and odor-free.  Menthol also helps to leave your feet feeling pampered and total fresh. The lotion’s skin-smoothing ingredients make this foot cream a triple threat by helping to combat dry, cracked heels that often result from wearing flip flops all day.

Well now that you know how to keep your feet smelling sweet, buy that cute new pair of sandals you have been eying all week.

6 reasons why summers are terrible in India

The heat is upon us and with that comes the bazillions of complaints about the weather from everyone. Here are six reasons why people hate the scorching summer season:

Bills- You hate it when the electric bills go through the roof at the cost of running air-conditioners and coolers to keep your home cool so you don't die of a heat-stroke on your own couch when the mercury touches 45⁰C and above.

Sunburn- Suntan and then sunburn can cause people with fair skin with weeks worth of painful reminders of dull and spoilt skin. Why we say spoilt is because as much as we know the sun is good for us we must also remember it causes dark spots, patchy skin and possibly irreversible skin cancer.

Mosquitoes and Bugs - Bugs will infest everywhere, within a reasonable distance to water. And for those who live near the ocean or near some body of water elsewhere, summer months are a guaranteed mosquito-fest in the house. To add to the trouble, ticks and fleas will plague your animals, especially if you own a dog or are anywhere near horses.

Stink - Body Odor will fill the air everywhere with it's awful stench, especially on hot, crowded subways, metros and buses which many of us have to take to work five days a week, twice a day at least. Your shoes and feet will stink for days and it’s possible that people may want to be away from your sweaty presence.

Rage - Road rage, bike rage, pedestrian rage and stroller rage. You name it, we’re all in it. Once the terrible summer sets in, tempers escalate with the temperature. They should start calling it the fighting season of the year.

Heat - The steamy heat makes you feel sluggish all day and leaves you wide awake all night during spotty power cuts. At the time you’re used to the hum of the air conditioner, long and patience-testing power failures spoil the game. And then there are weeks of sleep to catch up on!

Change to summer shampoos

Ah, there we go...it is Summer, at last! The birds are chirping, the waves are lapping and you sit at home in a power cut with your hair sticking to your face and the fan blowing warm air!! While holidays are a great incentive for the summers, one most negative aspect is what the summer can do to your hair. Summer hair care can be a nightmare of epic proportions, in fact it can be so bad that you spend your days wishing for the cold nights of winter. Here is when the summer shampoo can come to your rescue. Here are some shampoos that will keep your locks looking as bright and breezy as the weather itself!
Wind, harsh sun, chlorine, salt water and air conditioning could make your hair dull, brassy, frizzy, dry or brittle and can therefore spoil your entire look, we therefore highly recommend these slightly expensive but damage repairing shampoos which can be easily bought or ordered from online shopping websites like homeshop18 or amazon.com.

Frederic Fekkai Shampoo - This shampoo features an all-star roster of healthy-hair ingredients: apple cider vinegar, vitamins A and E, apple, sage, rosemary, verbena, oat, wheat proteins, and kukui. The end result of putting all that goodness on your head? Soft, silky strands that are easy to style and free of build-up.

Aubrey Organics Green Tea Clarifying Shampoo - This eco cleaner uses organic green tea, aloe vera, lemon peel oil, blue chamomile, and almond oil to restore your hair's bounce and shine. Since it's sulfate-free, it doesn't sud up like many shampoos you may be used to. Don't worry — that doesn't mean it's not working, it's just cleaning your strands in a gentler, more environmentally friendly way!

Phyto Phytoneutre Clarifying Shampoo - Refresh, revitalize, and restore balance to your hair with this natural shampoo. It uses eucalyptus oil to stimulate your scalp and remove excess oil and dirt, gifted to you in plenty by the summer sun.

René Furterer Fioravanti Clarify And Shine Rinse Shampoo - Based on the traditional ritual of rinsing your hair in vinegar to increase shine, this less-harsh option uses ginger, cinnamon, and cherry vinegar to neutralize hard water, detangle, and gives a glossy finish to your hair which lasts all day, helping you look perfect during your meetings in spite of the crazy travel and heavy sweating in the merciless months of April and May.

Milkshake Color Maintainer Shampoo - Summers can be troublesome if you have colored hair. Not only will the sun damage your hair color but the chlorine in swimming pools can cause real problems with hair color. Milkshake Colour Maintainer Shampoo is without a doubt one of the best shampoos for the job. It is made using natural ingredients and it is gentle towards colored hair and keeps them clean, healthy and moisturized and is a must have summer shampoo!

Protect your car from boiling in the summers

Consumers spend thousands on car maintenance every year during the scorching summer season to get their ACs, fans, coolants and air filters repaired. Car experts blame it on the higher amounts of airborne dust during the dry and windy months, often making it much more susceptible to air filter damage.

Summer road trips will also cause your car to be more in need of general maintenance and repairs, no matter what state or part of the country you live in. Read on to learn the top three general maintenance repairs you should perform on your car to prepare for the summer months…

1) Maintain the coolant system- Have the radiator pressure tested, and your hoses examined for cracks and bulges. If you can’t remember the last time your water pump was replaced, or the pump has more miles on it than what the manufacturer recommends, then it’s a good idea to get a new one. Also make sure to replace your engine’s coolant, even if things look ok under the hood.

2) Check the air conditioning- This should be a no-brainer, but some people might assume everything is working fine on that end. During the hot summer months, your AC system is working overtime, especially during long, hot commutes, such as a road trip. So take the time to make sure everything is in shape to keep you cool. Give the poor AC some rest by using it for lesser time, while driving in evenings or nights.

3) Protect you car’s interior- Protect the inside of your car from sun and heat by always parking in the shade. If can’t manage to get a parking spot in the shade, cover your car with black translucent screen to control the amount the sunlight entering your car. If you have leather seats, get a leather conditioner and go over the seats to prevent cracks and dry spots. Or better, change your seat covers to cooler, cotton summer seat covers.
