Indian Cotton exports are expected to decline 23 percent to 7.7 million bales in the 2014-15 year due to tight domestic supplies following a likely fall in production, according to the USDA report.India’s  total cotton output is pegged lower at 36 million bales for the 2014-15 marketing year, due to expected lower crop yields.

The Central government had set a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 1400 per quintal for the current season. The harvest of wheat has been delayed by prolonged winter and unseasonal rains this year resulting in arrivals being limited.

Top ten hottest places in India

According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, summer has turned the heat on Maharashtra's Vidarbha and surrounding areas. Chandrapur remained the hottest place with a maximum of 46°C on Sunday. Places in Odisha and Gangetic belt, which continuously figured in the list for the last one week or so are missing as the heat wave conditions have abated due rain and cloudy sky under the influence of a weather system ( low pressure area) in westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining parts of south Odisha.
