Northeast United States gears up for heavy to extremely heavy snow, as winter storm Niko approaches the region.
In fact, the biggest snowstorm of this winter, Niko has already started wreaking havoc over the region, majorly impacting the air traffic.
So far, more than 2300 flights across New York City, Boston, New England and Philadelphia have already been cancelled.
Winds of great damage potential to the tune of 80 kmph are likely to lash the region, which could snap the electricity wire and trees. Weathermen are also warning of blizzard conditions on Thursday.
Niko is likely to impact at least 12 states of the region including major areas of Boston, Baltimore, New York and Philadelphia. We are expecting some record snowfall ranging from 8-12 inches.
Some places may also record lightning.
Northeast United States has remained snow deficit, this season but with Niko, we are hoping that this deficiency will be covered up.
