Weather Forecast Sept 25: Patna, Gaya, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai to see moderate rains with heavy rains likely over parts of Kerala

In the central parts of the country, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Gujarat and a Trough is extending from Gujarat to Bay of Bengal across Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Therefore, light to moderate rains are possible over south and east Gujarat, many parts of Maharashtra. East Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh may also see light to moderate rains with one or two moderate spells. Rains over East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh will be comparatively less, and Kutch may observe only light rains. Mumbai city may see moderate rain and thundershowers.

Heading to eastern parts of our country, wherein in wake of east-west Trough and humid winds from the Bay of Bengal we expect rains to increase over Bihar and adjoining parts of East Uttar Pradesh and here light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells can be seen. Similar weather will prevail over West Bengal and Coastal Odisha.

While interior Odisha and Jharkhand may see light to moderate rains. Ongoing moderate to heavy rains over Northeast India will reduce and there will be light rains with one or two moderate spells only.

Talking about the cities, Kolkata, Patna and Gaya may observe good Monsoon rains.

Down South, a Cyclonic Circulation has formed over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Kerala coast, therefore, moderate to heavy rains are possible over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and South Tamil Nadu. The interior parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema and parts of Telangana may see light to moderate rains while Coastal Andhra Pradesh may record one or two heavy spells of rain.

Chennai to observe light rains with moderate showers likely over Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Along with this, Lakshadweep Islands will also see moderate rains.

In the North, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Central Pakistan and the easterlies are increasing moisture over northwest India. Hence, we expect rains to increase marginally over Northwest India. Parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir may get to see scattered light to moderate rains. While parts of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh may see scattered light rains with one or two moderate spells. Delhi and NCR may also see one or two short odd spells of rain and thundershowers.
