Weather Forecast Sep 1: Good rains likely over Shimla, Nainital, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mangaluru, Goa

Yesterday’s Cyclonic Circulation now lies over Northwest Madhya Pradesh. The Axis of Monsoon Trough now passes through Punjab, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and then towards East central Bay of Bengal.

The Cyclonic Circulation is over South Pakistan and adjoining Gujarat. The moderate rainfall activity will persist over West Madhya Pradesh with isolated heavy spells. While East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will see a dip in rainfall activity.

Rains are likely to increase in Gujarat with moderate rains in many parts. Good rains are likely over the Kutch region. In Maharashtra, Mumbai and Vidarbha will receive good rains. Down South, a Cyclonic Circulation is in the upper air and lies over Lakshadweep and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea. Another Cyclonic Circulation is over South Andhra Pradesh coast and adjoining areas. Moderate rainfall will continue along Coastal Karnataka and Kerala with chances of rains in North Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

While scattered light rains can be seen over Karnataka, Rayalaseema and activity will now reduce over Tamil Nadu.In the eastern parts of the country, a Cyclonic Circulation has developed over Northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh. The system is likely to intensify into a Low-Pressure Area around September 2.

The humid easterly winds are prevailing over most parts of east and northeast region. Scattered light to moderate rains is likely over Northeast India and Sikkim. Moderate rains can also be seen over South Odisha. While light to very light rains, warm and uneasy humid weather conditions will prevail over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and East Uttar Pradesh.

Finally, up in the North, a fresh Western Disturbance as an upper air system is seen over North Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas. A Cyclonic Circulation has developed over South Punjab and the Axis of Monsoon Trough is moving from South Punjab to central parts of the country.

South Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will receive light to moderate spells at many places. Chances of mudslide and landslide is likely over Uttarakhand. The isolated parts of South Jammu and Kashmir will receive light rainfall.

North Punjab and Haryana, Northwest Uttar Pradesh along with east and central parts of Rajasthan will receive light to moderate rains while patchy rains/ showers can be seen over Delhi and South Haryana.
