Weather Forecast Oct 31: Hefty rains, rough sea conditions to impact Mangalore, Kochi, Alappuzha, Minicoy

In the southern parts of our country, a Deep Depression is over Southeast Arabian Sea near Lakshadweep. Hence, heavy to very heavy rains are likely to lash Kerala. While light to moderate rains will be seen over Tamil Nadu. Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana may also receive light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells.

Lakshadweep is likely to see heavy to very heavy rains. Whereas Kerala, Coastal Karnataka and South Tamil Nadu will experience strong winds of 40- 50 kmph gusting 60 kmph accompanied with rough sea conditions.

Chennai and Bengaluru will see moderate showers. Kochi, Alappuzha, Mangalore will see heavy rains.Meanwhile in Central, a confluence zone is now over Maharashtra. Therefore, scattered light to moderate rains will continue over Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and South Konkan and Goa as well as the southern districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Scattered light rains are also possible over parts of Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.Heading to eastern parts of our country wherein a Cyclonic Circulation is over Meghalaya and adjoining areas. Thus, light rain with one or two moderate spells is expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Mizoram.

Light snowfall is a chance in Arunachal Pradesh. Weather of West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand will be dry. Whereas light scattered rains are possible over Coastal Odisha.Finally, up in the North, scattered light rains with isolated snowfall are possible over the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir with isolated spells to be seen over Himachal Pradesh and West Rajasthan. The rest northwestern plains of the country are likely to witness dry weather with minimums remaining above normal. Pollution levels in Delhi will be in very poor to severe category.
