Weather Forecast Oct 28: Good rains in Tamil Nadu, Andhra, parts of Karnataka, Telangana

A Cyclonic Circulation is over Southcentral Bay of Bengal off North Sri Lanka coast. A Trough from this system is extending up to Tamil Nadu. Hence, rains are expected to increase once again over the coastal stations of Tamil Nadu. Places like Karaikal, Nagapattinam, Pamban are very likely to see good rains during the next 24 hours and these places may see moderate rain with one or two heavy showers. Amidst this Chennai will also see light to moderate showers. While interior parts of Tamil Nadu may get light scattered rains. The southern districts of Kerala like Punalur and Idduki may see moderate showers. Even few places of southern districts of Karnataka like Mysore and Shimoga may see moderate showers. However, light scattered rains are possible over rest Karnataka, with light to moderate over Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile in the central parts of our country, extremely severe Cyclone Kyarr has moved westward, therefore its influence over the Maharashtra coast has decreased significantly. The rain activities have also slowdown and now light showers with isolated moderate spells will only be a sight over Madhya Maharashtra. Light scattered rains can be seen over Marathwada, Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa. Scattered light rains can be seen over Gujarat, South Chhattisgarh, Southwest Madhya Pradesh. While isolated light rains can also be seen over the southern districts of Rajasthan. Amidst this Ahmedabad and Pune may see light rain with dry weather conditions over Nagpur.

Heading to east India, the weather activities have subsided as an Anti-Cyclone has formed over North Odisha. No significant weather activity is expected however light rain is a possibility at one or two places of Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Dry weather is likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Northeast India. However, chances of isolated showers cannot be ignored over some parts of Northeast India. Kolkata will witness dry weather with light rain is expected over Ranchi.

Finally, up in the North, dry north westerlies will continue to blow over the plains of our country leading to a marginal fall in the minimums. However, weather will be dry with clear sky over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

There is a chance that pollution in Delhi and NCR may worsen and will be in poor to very poor category
