Weather Forecast Oct 26: Strong winds to lash Maharashtra and Gujarat coasts, courtesy Severe Cyclone Kyarr

The Severe Cyclone Kyarr is moving west/northwestward over central Arabian Sea. Now we expect strong winds to continue over Maharashtra and South Gujarat coast. While light to moderate rains are possible over Konkan and Goa, parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada as well as South Gujarat and South Chhattisgarh. Scattered light rain is possible over South and Southeast Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh. Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh will continue to see dry weather.

Down South, the rain activities over Karnataka and Kerala will decrease but light to moderate rains will continue over Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Interior Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema. Telangana may also receive few good spells of rain. While Chennai may see light showers with moderate spells possible over Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

In eastern parts of our country, the ongoing heavy rains over Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal will decrease now and only light to moderate showers will be seen. Light rains are possible over Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Whereas moderate rain with one or two heavy spells is possible over Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and East Assam. Weather of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will be dry.

Up in the North, there is no significant weather system therefore almost dry weather is expected over entire northwest plains. However isolated light rain may be seen over Jammu and Kashmir. Delhi pollution will be in moderate to poor category with isolated pockets witnessing very poor pollution levels.
