Weather Forecast Oct 25: Heavy rains over Karnataka and Kerala

Starting with South India, the Deep Depression over East-central Arabian Sea will now move in East-northeast direction and will then again recurve gradually to West by evening or night of October 25. In the wake of this, we expect moderate to heavy rains to continue over coastal Karnataka and parts of Kerala. Light to moderate rains are possible over interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema. Also, a Well Marked Low Pressure Area is over Odisha coast. Due to its influence, rain activities are expected to increase over Telangana and we expect light to moderate rains to occur over here.

Rains over coastal Andhra Pradesh will now reduce but moderate showers are possible over North-coastal Andhra Pradesh. Vijayawada and Hyderabad will see moderate rains while light rains will continue over Chennai and Bengaluru.

Talking about Central India, here moderate rains with one or two heavy spells may continue over South Konkan and Goa as well as parts of Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra. Isolated rains are possible over Vidarbha, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and South Gujarat. Light rains are likely in Mumbai whereas weather of Saurashtra and Kutch, West Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan will remain dry.

Coming onto East and Northeast India, here a Trough is extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Bay of Bengal. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is present over Central Assam. Moderate to heavy rains are possible over many parts of West Bengal, Odisha and parts of Jharkhand. Scattered rains are possible over South and East Bihar. Moderate to heavy rains with one or two very heavy spells are likely over Assam and Meghalaya. Light to moderate rains will be seen over rest parts of Northeast India. Cities like Jamshedpur, Guwahati and Kolkata will see moderate to heavy rains.

Lastly Northwest India, here isolated light rains are possible over Jammu and Kashmir. Whereas the weather of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Northwest Plains will remain dry. Pollution over Delhi and NCR will remain in ‘poor to very poor’ category.
