Weather Forecast Oct 16: Moderate to Heavy rain likely over Karnataka, Kerala, parts of Tamil Nadu

The Southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from entire North Bay of Bengal, some parts of central Bay of Bengal, entire Odisha, Chhattisgarh, some parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some more parts of Telangana, entire Vidarbha, Marathwada, some parts of North Interior Karnataka, most parts of Madhya Maharashtra, some more parts of Konkan, entire north Arabian Sea and some parts of central Arabian Sea.

Down South, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep Area. Due to this we expect, moderate to heavy rains over Kerala, South and Interior Tamil Nadu as well as South Interior Karnataka. Scattered light to moderate rains is expected over Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Rains will be comparatively less over Telangana, Coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai. However, Bengaluru may receive moderate showers. Light rain will be a sight over Hyderabad as well.
In the eastern parts of our country, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Bihar and the easterlies are feeding moisture to Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Therefore, we expect scattered light rains with one or two moderate spells over Odisha and parts of West Bengal. Weather of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar as well as Jharkhand will be dry. Isolated rains are possible over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Meanwhile in the central parts, since the Monsoon has withdrawn from entire Central India, therefore we expect dry weather conditions over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and North Madhya Maharashtra.

Whereas light rain at few places of South Chhattisgarh, South Konkan and Goa will be a sight with isolated spells to be seen over South Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha.
Up in the North, an Anti-Cyclone is over West Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan. The dry winds will continue over entire Northwest India; therefore, we expect dry weather over the Western Himalayas as well the Northwest Plains. Sky will be clear with bright sunshine. There will be no relief from ongoing pollution over Delhi and NCR and will be in moderate to poor category at many places with very poor conditions to be seen over isolated pockets.
