Weather Forecast Nov 8: Cyclone Maha degenerates but Bulbul emerges

Starting with East and Northeast India, the Severe Cyclone Bulbul is over Central parts of Bay of Bengal. It will continue in North-northwestward direction towards Gangetic West Bengal. So, we expect scattered rains and thundershower activities over Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Odisha, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura by the evening of November 8. Kolkata may also receive light rains during late evening or night. Cloud cover will also increase over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and rest parts of Northeast India.

Coming onto Central India, Cyclone Maha has now degenerated and is lying as a Cyclonic Circulation over Gujarat. Therefore, we expect moderate rains at a few places over South Gujarat region such as Surat and Valsad. Whereas light scattered rains are possible over northern and eastern districts. Patchy rains are a possibility over West Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada and Vidarbha. Isolated rains might be seen over Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. Weather of Jharkhand, East Madya Pradesh and South Rajasthan will be dry. Mumbai and Pune may also receive isolated light rains.

Talking about South India, a Confluence zone is still persisting over interior peninsula. Therefore, we expect light to moderate rains over interior Maharashtra, Interior Tamil Nadu, isolated places over Kerala, and coastal Karnataka. Weather of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will remain almost dry. Bengaluru may receive light rains whereas Chennai and Hyderabad will be dry.

Lastly in North India, The Cyclonic Circulation persisting over central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab as well as the Western Disturbance is now moving away. Therefore, rains will now reduce over hills. But light rains and snow will continue over parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Isolated light rains may occur over foothills of Punjab. Weather of rest Northwest India will be dry. Delhi pollution will remain in moderate to poor category.
