Weather Forecast Nov 27: Moderate rain in Chennai, snow in Badrinath, Manali, Kedarnath, Gulmarg, Srinagar

A Western Disturbance is persisting over Jammu and Kashmir and its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over North Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Rain and snow are expected to occur at many places of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Also, the intensity of rain and snow will increase over Uttarakhand and few heavy spells can be a sight over the upper reaches of the region. Isolated hailstorm activity cannot be ruled out over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. If we talk about the northwestern plains then scattered rain and thundershowers can be seen over Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh. While isolated pockets of Delhi and Northeast Rajasthan may also witness patchy rains. The minimums will be above normal over the northwestern plains of the country.

Meanwhile in Central India wherein the northern districts may receive isolated light rains. However, southern districts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and South Rajasthan will be dry. Mumbai and Ahmedabad will be dry and the minimums over the central parts of the country will be marginally above normal.

Down South, an offshore Trough is extending from west-central Bay of Bengal to Southwest Bay of Bengal. We now expect rains to increase over coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai by the evening of November 27. With this we also expect light rains over South Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Interior Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The weather of Telangana and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh will be dry. While scattered rains are possible over the southern islands of Andaman and Nicobar. Bengaluru will see light rain with Hyderabad witnessing almost dry weather.

Heading to east and northeastern states of our country wherein an Anti-Cyclone is over Jharkhand and adjoining areas. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Meghalaya and South Assam. Isolated light rains are possible over East Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. However, the weather of East India will be dry and sunny with clear sky. Cities like Kolkata, Ranchi, Patna will witness dry weather. We also expect moderate to shallow fog over the foothills of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Coastal Odisha, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
