Weather Forecast Nov 17: Winter chill to grip Punjab, rain in Chennai and Bengaluru, Delhi AQI to improve

In South India, a Trough is extending along Tamil Nadu Coast in Southwest Bay of Bengal. Moreover, easterlies are feeding moisture. Thus, light to moderate rain would continue in Tamil Nadu and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated rains are likely in Kerala and South Interior Karnataka. The weather of North Interior Karnataka, Telangana and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh will remain dry. City-wise, Bengaluru will see light rain while one or two moderate spells are likely in Chennai. On the other hand, Hyderabad would witness dry weather only.

In North India, the Western Disturbance has moved away and now northerly/northwesterly winds would blow over the northern plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Thus, temperatures may fall by 2-3 degree Celcius and may get recorded below 10 degrees in parts of Punjab, Haryana and North Rajasthan, thus setting in winter chill. There may be a marginal improvement in Delhi pollution due to moderate winds. The remnants of the Western Disturbance would give isolated light rain in Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking about Central India, the weather of entire Central India will become dry and cool winds from the Western Himalayas would lead to a drop in the temperatures of Rajasthan, Gujarat and parts of Madhya Pradesh. Mumbai may witness dry weather only.

Lastly, in East and Northeast India, the weather of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha will remain dry. We expect a marginal drop in the temperatures of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar due to prevalence of northwesterly cold winds. Meanwhile, light rain is likely in a few parts of Arunachal Pradesh, East Assam while isolated light rain may occur in Nagaland.
