Weather Forecast Nov 11: Effect of Cyclone Bulbul to shift over to Northeast states

Starting with East and Northeast India, the Depression lies over southern parts of Bangladesh. The system would now be moving slowly in Northeast direction while weakening further. The effect of this system will now shift towards the Northeast states. Under the influence of this system, light to moderate rain and thundershowers would be affecting many places of Tripura, Mizoram, and southern parts of Assam. While other parts of Northeast states will see light rains at scattered places. Also, southern parts of Jharkhand and Odisha, may receive light rains at isolated places otherwise rest parts of eastern states will remain dry. Kolkata will also witness dry weather.

Coming on to South India, here a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Comorin areas. Also, an upper air Trough is extending from this system to Karnataka. Another Cyclonic Circulation can be seen over Southwest Bay of Bengal. Under the influence of these systems, states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, South Interior and coastal parts of Karnataka would see light to moderate rains. One or two places might also see heavy showers. There are chances of rain in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Talking about Central parts of the country, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Northeast parts of Arabian Sea. Due to this system, Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra will see light rains at isolated places. While South Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch will see light rains. Since, northwesterly dry winds are prevailing over central parts of the country hence, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha will remain mainly dry. There are chances of rains in Mumbai as well.

Lastly in North India, a feeble Western Disturbance is moving across extreme eastern parts of Ladakh. Another Western Disturbance is approaching Jammu and Kashmir. Due to presence of these systems, weather over Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh will remain cloudy. Rain and snowfall will be seen over higher reaches. Otherwise the Northwest Plains of India, will be mostly dry with shallow fog and mist during cool morning. Delhi will witness a warm day with a slight rise on pollution.
