Weather Forecast March 9: Rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh and TN

Up in North, a fresh Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and its adjoining areas. Isolated light rain might occur over the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Weather of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand as well as Northern Plains would be dry. Minimums might fall by a couple of degrees over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Punjab, North Rajasthan and West Haryana. There may be marginal drop in maximums because of the northwesterlies.

Talking about pollution over Delhi and NCR, it would be in moderate to poor category.

In East India, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over eastern parts of Assam. Light rain is a possibility at few places in Arunachal Pradesh. While, isolated spells can be seen over one or two places of East Assam. Weather in the rest of East and Northeast India would be dry. Minimums might drop marginally over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

In Central India, dry winds from northwest would be blowing over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Therefore, we expect marginal drop in day and night temperatures over these areas. Both, day and night temperatures would be below normal by two to three degrees over these states. Due to the presence of southwesterlies, minimum temperatures might increase by a degree or two.

Down South, a trough is extending from West Bengal to Interior Tamil Nadu across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and South Interior Karnataka. Thus, isolated rains can be seen over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, while Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka and some places of South Kerala will observe scattered rain. Ongoing heat wave conditions over South Interior Karnataka are expected to abate soon. There might be a marginal relief from heatwave over Tamil Nadu also. However, temperatures would remain very high over the state. Weather in North Interior along with Coastal Karnataka and Telangana would remain dry.
