Weather Forecast March 31: Jalpaiguri, Jamshedpur, Ranchi to see rains; Mumbai to remain warm with sunny sky

Up in the North, the Western Disturbance has moved away across east of Jammu and Kashmir. Isolated activity is a chance in parts of East Jammu and Kashmir, North Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The temperatures would drop significantly over these regions during day and night. Northerly cool winds are expected to prevail over the northwestern plains. Early morning and day temperatures are expected to drop by two to three degrees over Chandigarh, Ambala, Karnal, Delhi, Bikaner, Alwar, Meerut, Moradabad and Muzaffarnagar. While, heatwave like conditions would be a sight over Barmer and Jaisalmer.

A Cyclonic Circulation is likely to form over North Bihar and its adjoining area. A trough from this system would extend up to Chhattisgarh. Rain and thunderstorm with moderate spells are a possibility over Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Purnia and Bhagalpur. While, scattered light rain and thundershower activities would be a sight over Birbhum, Bankura, Bokaro, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Baripada and Keonjhargarh. Isolated thundersqualls and moderate lightning over these areas cannot be ruled out. As per experts, these activities would continue for the coming 72 hours. Thunderclouds might develop in Kolkata.

Another Cyclonic Circulation is over extreme northeastern parts and an upper air trough is extending over the region. Moderate rain and thundershowers at many places over the region might be witnessed. Along with this, thundersqualls and lightning with isolated severe thunderstorms would be seen over Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, Guwahati, Shillong and Kohima. These activities are expected to continue for three to four days.

While in Central India, Chhattisgarh would remain warm. With this, isolated thundercloud development is possible over North Chhattisgarh. Mumbai to remain warm and humid with mainly sunny sky.

Down South, a Cyclonic Circulation is over North Karnataka and a trough from this system would go up to Kerala. Isolated thunderstorm activities would be a sight in Karnataka and North Kerala. There are chances of thunderclouds in North Telangana region. Hyderabad would witness similar conditions with very hot day. Isolated heatwave conditions to be seen over North Telangana and North Karnataka. Bengaluru would experience uneasy and warm weather. While, in Chennai it will be warm and humid.
