March 18, 2019 7:47 PM | Skymet Weather Team

A fresh Western Disturbance is now over Jammu and Kashmir and its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Punjab and Haryana. Due to these weather systems, we expect light to moderate rain and thundershower at many places of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and few places of Uttarakhand. Isolated snowfall might also occur over the upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Places like Srinagar, Pahalgam, Vaishno Devi, Shimla, Kullu, Manali, Rudraprayg, Kedarnath and Nainital would be a sight to these rains.

Scattered rains might also occur over northern districts of Punjab. Places like Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Jalandhar and Rupnagar would be observing the same. Isolated thundery activity or rain is also expected over parts of Haryana. Weather of Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan would be completely dry. Minimums might also rise by a couple of degrees over these places.

In East, a Cyclonic Circulation is seen over East Assam and adjoining areas. An Anti-Cyclone over Bay of Bengal has also shifted southeastward leading to increase in moisture over Northeast states. Thus, light to moderate rain and thundershowers would be a sight over these states.

The confluence zone has shifted over North Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal which would give scattered rains over 24 Parganas, Diamond Harbour, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Mayurbhanj and Baripada during the next 24 hours.
