Weather Forecast March 18: Rain in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and northeastern states

To begin with North India, the feeble Western Disturbance lies over Jammu and Kashmir. Thus, light rain will affect over isolated places in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, East Himachal Pradesh and North Uttarakhand. Weather in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh will remain dry.

Moving to East/Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over central parts of Assam and a trough is extending from this system to Jharkhand across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Bihar.

Therefore, light to moderate rainfall activity will occur over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and northeastern states. Odisha will also receive scattered rain and thundershowers.

In central India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Chhattisgarh and adjoining parts of Vidarbha. A trough is running from this system towards South India. In the wake of these weather systems, isolated rains will occur over Chhattisgarh and parts of Vidarbha. Dry weather will prevail over rest of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Lastly in South India, a cyclonic circulation lies over North Interior Karnataka. A trough is running from this system to Coastal Karnataka. Therefore, temperatures will increase over Karnataka. Weather in rest all parts of South India will remain mainly dry and very warm. However, due to the trough extending across Comorin region, parts of South Kerala and South Coastal Tamil Nadu may receive light rain.
