Weather Forecast March 3: Hailstorm, rain over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, MP, Rajasthan

Beginning with North, a Western Disturbance now lies over North Jammu and Kashmir and its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Punjab and adjoining areas. Both these systems are likely to move further east/northeastward. Rain and snow are likely at many places of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand with few moderate spells and isolated heavy spells. Rain and thundershower activity over the plains would continue for another 24 hours and at many places of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and some places of East Rajasthan. Hailstorm is also a chance over North and Northwest plains.

A trough has developed from East Uttar Pradesh up till Maharashtra. A moisture incursion is observed over the area from the winds coming from Bay of Bengal. A Cyclonic Circulation is over Manipur and adjoining areas of Nagaland. Rainfall activity has now set in over at many places of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha and few places of West Bengal. Squally winds and lightning strikes are expected at some places with isolated hailstorms in offing. Also, rain and thundershower activities are expected at many parts of Arunachal Pradesh, East Assam and adjoining Nagaland. Dry weather to prevail over rest northeastern states. Day temperatures to drop by 2°C-4°C over East India and night temperatures are expected to go up by 2°C-3°C.

Due to an Anti-Cyclonic Circulation over North Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Odisha coast, moisture incursion is taking place over central parts of the country. Rainfall activities is also likely at many places over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and adjoining Vidarbha. Isolated activities can be seen over Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh. After 24 hours, the activity is expected to reduce once the system moves further east.

Down South, moisture incursion is taking place over most parts of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Wind discontinuity can be marked from Madhya Maharashtra to Karnataka coast. Hence, light thunderstorm activity is a chance over Karnataka, Kerala and South Tamil Nadu. Andhra Pradesh might witness short spell of thundershower activities because of moisture incursion. Day temperatures are expected to drop over Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Rayalaseema.
