Weather Forecast June 3: Rain in Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, heat wave in Delhi, Jaipur

To begin with South India, a trough is extending across parts of Telangana, Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka. Thus, scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers will occur over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In fact, major cities of Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad will also witness rain showers. But due to prevalence of northwesterly winds, northern parts of Telangana may witness heat wave like condition.

Similarly, in Central India also in the wake of dry and hot winds from northwest, heat wave conditions will continue over parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. Meanhwile, due to a cyclonic circulation present over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and a trough from this system running across parts of Chhattisgarh, rain will occur in parts of Maharashtra, East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Moving towards east/northeast India, due to moisture incursion and the cyclonic circulation over parts of Central India, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha will witness isolated rains with gusty winds. Meanwhile, South Assam and adjoining Tripura will see heavy rains. Rest northeastern states will also witness rain and thundershowers, due to the cyclonic circulation over parts of Assam and an east-west trough passing across Northeast India.

Up in North India, a Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and its induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan. In fact, a trough is running from this system across parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Due to these weather systems, light to moderate rains will occur over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Punjab will see dust storm, whereas, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh will remain dry and hot. However, severe heat wave conditions may occur in Rajasthan.
