July 1, 2019 7:56 PM | Skymet Weather Team

At present, a Low-Pressure Area is over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. A trough is extending from Northwest Bay of Bengal to this Low-Pressure Area.
Thus, we expect moderate to heavy rains over Chhattisgarh, many parts of Madhya Pradesh particularly the southern and central districts, Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over South Gujarat and adjoining Konkan and Goa. Therefore, good rains will continue over South Gujarat, Konkan and Goa including Mumbai. Whereas, scattered light to moderate rains are expected over Southeast Rajasthan, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra and North Madhya Pradesh.

Similar weather system is affecting eastern part of the country. Light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells will be seen over parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. While, light to scattered rains seem a possibility over East Bihar with isolated spells to be seen over East Uttar Pradesh.

Down South, an off-shore trough is extending from South Gujarat to Coastal Karnataka, thus light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells might occur over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. While, few places of Telangana also might see light to moderate rains. With this, scattered rains are possible over North Interior Karnataka and isolated over South Interior Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Whereas, weather of Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu will be dry and hot.

Finally, up in the North a feeble Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. A trough is seen extending from Northeast Rajasthan to North Madhya Pradesh. Hence, isolated thundery activity might be seen in West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan with scattered rains to be seen over Uttarakhand.

Weather of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi would be dry and hot. There are chances that temperature of Delhi might fall marginally due to change in wind direction from the Northwesterlies to Easterlies.
