Presently, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Punjab and a Trough is extending from this system to East India across Indo-Gangetic plains. We expect moderate to heavy rains to impact parts of Punjab like Ludhiana, Patiala, Chandigarh, Gurdaspur and Amritsar. Moderate rains with one or two heavy spells will also be seen over parts of Haryana, West and Central Uttar Pradesh.
Rain intensity might reduce over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand with possibility of few moderate showers. Light rains will be a sight over Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi.
The seasonal Trough is shifting towards South; therefore, rain activities will now reduce over East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. However, good rains might continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, parts of Assam for another 24 hours. Whereas scattered rains might continue over Northeast India and at few places of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha.
Down South, an off-shore Trough is persisting from Karnataka to Kerala coast, therefore moderate rains with one or two heavy spells will continue over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. The intensity of rains will be light over Interior Karnataka, Telangana and Rayalaseema. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Interior Tamil Nadu might receive few light to moderate rain and thundershowers. Whereas, Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Islands will continue to see moderate to heavy rains.
