Weather Forecast July 14: Very Heavy rains continue to lash Supaul, Kishanganj, Assam and Meghalaya

One part of the Trough continues to remain in the foothills which is moving across North Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. Another branch is extending from Bihar to North Bay of Bengal across Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Heavy to very heavy rains will continue over the northern parts of Bihar especially over Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj along with Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Kalimpong, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh While moderate rains will be seen in parts of rest Northeast India, some parts of Bihar, Malda and Dinajpur districts of West Bengal. There will be a significant decrease in rainfall activities over East Uttar Pradesh.

Up in the North, a feeble Western Disturbance is approaching and presently lies over Afghanistan and adjoining North Pakistan. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Central Pakistan. Also, the East-west Trough will be helpful in giving moderate rain and thundershower activities over South Himachal Pradesh, South Uttarakhand, adjoining Punjab, Haryana and Northwest Uttar Pradesh.

Light rains stand a chance at few places of Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and extreme North and South of Rajasthan. Strong southwesterly winds with mainly dry weather would prevail over Rajasthan. There are chances that temperature might drop marginally over the region.

Subdued Monsoon activities will continue in parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Light scattered rainfall can be seen over most parts of Maharashtra with light to moderate showers over Konkan and Goa. Mainly light showers over isolated places in Mumbai can be seen as well. Temperatures over East Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh might rise marginally.

Finally, down South, a Trough is extending from South Andhra Pradesh coast to Tamil Nadu coast. A Cyclonic Circulation in the middle level has formed over Southwest Bay of Bengal and North Tamil Nadu. Light rain and thundershowers with one or two moderate spells over North Andhra Pradesh coast adjoining Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, North Tamil Nadu and Kerala can be seen. Also, the Trough along the West coast from South Maharashtra to Kerala persists. Hence, moderate to heavy rains are likely over Karnataka and Kerala coast with Subdued Monsoon conditions to be seen over Rayalaseema and North Interior Karnataka.
