Weather Forecast July 1: Heavy rain in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand

The well-marked low-pressure area lies over northern parts of Bay of Bengal and adjoining region. This system will be intensifying more and moving in west/northwest direction. Therefore, we expect moderate rain and thundershowers with few heavy spells over many places of Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, South Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Southeast Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and parts of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Due to incursion of moisture from Bay of Bengal, light to moderate rains will continue over the northeastern states.

A cyclonic circulation lies over South Gujarat and adjoining parts of Northeast Arabian Sea off Mumbai Coast. Due to this system, moderate to heavy rains will continue along the western coast including parts of Coastal Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. North Interior Karnataka, Telangana and rest Andhra Pradesh will also witness rains. Dry and hot weather will prevail over most parts of Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema.

In North India, the Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. In the wake of this system, light rains will occur over Jammu and Kashmir with isolated places of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. While, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh will witness hot weather with chance of dust storm and short spell of light rain.
