Weather Forecast Jan 9: Minimums to drop over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West UP, MP, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat

To begin with North India, the Western Disturbance has moved away and now another Western Disturbance lies over North Pakistan which will affect the northern hills on January 10. Thus, weather over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will remain dry for 24 hours. However, marginal drop in minimums is likely over the Northwestern Plains. Dense fog is also expected in a few parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

Moving to Central India, due to the anti-cyclone over Maharashtra, dry winds will continue over most parts of Central India. We expect further fall in temperatures over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Rajasthan and Gujarat. In fact, minimums will be below normal over most parts of Central India.

In East/Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is over Meghalaya and adjoining region. In wake of this, isolated rain and snow may occur over higher reaches of Arunachal Pradesh. Isolated light rain is also possible over East Assam and North Nagaland. Weather of rest northeastern states will remain dry. Day and night temperatures may fall marginally over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. Dense fog is expected over the foothills of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Lastly in south, scattered light rain with few moderate spells are likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Weather of rest South India will remain dry. Temperatures of Telangana may fall further and will become below normal over many places.
