January 7, 2019 6:56 PM | Skymet Weather Team

After giving heavy rains and snow over the hills, the Western Disturbance has moved away. Another fresh Western Disturbance has approached Jammu and Kashmir. Thus, scattered light rain and snow with one or two moderate spells are likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh whereas isolated rains can be seen over Uttarakhand.

Since it is a fast-moving weather system, the intensity of rain/snow activity will not be as severe as the previous one and the weather will start clearing up after 24 hours. The Northern Plains will witness dry weather. However, moderate to dense fog is expected in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

Dry northerly winds are blowing over the entire Central India. Therefore, temperatures of South Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra will drop by two to three degree Celsius. Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh will further observe a drop in temperature. Weather will remain dry.

In East/North-East India, a Cyclonic Circulation is over eastern parts of Bangladesh. Remnants of Western Disturbance may give scattered rain or snow activities over the upper reaches of Arunachal Pradesh and light rain over adjoining parts of Assam. Weather of rest northeastern states as well as East India will be dry. Due to recent rains in East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, moderate to dense fog is expected over the same.
