Weather Forecast Jan 5: Light rain likely in isolated places at Andhra Pradesh, South interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu

Due to Northwesterly cold winds and the availability of high moisture, the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh will experience moderate to dense fog conditions during the morning hours. A drop in the night temperatures is also possible. The central parts of the country will be dry with cool and hazy morning. The day will be pleasant and comfortable with some clouding.
 
Due to the mixing of moist and cold winds over Andhra Pradesh, South interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu light rain is likely at isolated places. Some parts of the state will experience dry weather conditions. The night will be cool and pleasant while the day will remain slightly warm. Dry weather is expected to prevail in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, and North interior Karnataka. The day will be comfortable and the night will be cool and pleasant.

Chennai and Bengaluru will receive light rain. However, dry weather conditions will prevail in Hyderabad.IN THE EASTERN PARTS OF THE COUNTRY: After the active Western Disturbance moving away from the eastern parts of the country, northwesterly cool winds have started to affect the region.  Due to the presence of high moisture content, dense fog will occur during early morning hours in East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and the northern parts of Odisha. Some parts are likely to remain under cold day conditions.

A cyclonic circulation is over the eastern parts of Assam and its adjoining areas. Due to the presence of this system, light to moderate rain and thundershower is likely in some states like Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh Nagaland and Sikkim may receive snow. The lower parts of Assam will see moderate to dense fog.
 
The remnants of the Western Disturbance lies over Ladakh. Due to the presence of this system, the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will experience light spells of rain and snowfall at scattered places. The southern parts of these states are likely to remain dry and pleasant with partly cloudy sky. Due to the presence of northwesterly cold winds, the night temperature will decrease over the northwest plains. Moderate to dense fog will occur during the early morning hours in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, and North Rajasthan. During the evening hours, light spell of rain or thundershower is likely to affect the extreme northwest part of Rajasthan and adjoining West Haryana and Southwest Punjab.
