Weather Forecast Jan 4: Rain and snow likely in hills, Cold Wave to abate from North India

Starting off with North India, a Western Disturbance is over prevailing over Jammu and Kashmir. Its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Pakistan. Thus, rain and snowfall is likely over the hills of Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. A few northern districts in Punjab might also see light rains. Weather will remain dry and mostly sunny over Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Cold Wave will finally relax over these areas.

Talking about East India, where a Trough is extending from Gangetic West Bengal to Odisha. Rains will now subside over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. However, some light rains and overcast sky might still prevail over here. Apart from this, a Cyclonic Circulation is prevailing over Assam and Nagaland. Due to which, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland might receive light to moderate rains. Arunachal Pradesh might even see snowfall activities.

Coming onto Central India, where weather will remain mainly dry over Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Chhattisgarh might see some rains. Night temperatures might fall a bit over Gujarat, Goa and Maharashtra whereas a rise in temperatures is forecast for Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Lastly in South India, where a few places in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Kerala might see rain and thundershowers. Weather will remain dry in Karnataka.
