Weather Forecast Jan 25: Light to moderate rains over Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand

The last Western Disturbance gave ample amount of rain and snow over the hilly states. Now, a fresh Western Disturbance is over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir which too would give rain and snow at few places of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and many places of Uttarakhand. Isolated rain and thundershower activity might occur over the foothills of Punjab and adjoining Haryana and northwest Uttar Pradesh.

Talking about temperatures, weather over rest areas of Haryana, Delhi and North Rajasthan would remain dry, with marginal drop in minimums. Isolated pockets of North Rajasthan and Delhi might be affected by dense fog whereas moderate to shallow fog is expected at many places.

In East/Northeast India, a Cyclonic Circulation is seen over Southeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar and Jharkhand. Thus, light to moderate rain and thunderstorm activities with isolated hailstorm are expected over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and parts of Jharkhand. Whereas, weather of Odisha and West Bengal would be dry.

Isolated rain/ thundershower is possible over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and parts of Assam. There are chances of snowfall over the upper reaches of Sikkim.

Heading toward Central India, a trough is seen extending from this Cyclonic Circulation up till Karnataka across Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Therefore, rain and thundershower activities are possible over Madhya Pradesh, parts of Vidarbha and one or two places of Marathwada.

Due to cold northerly winds, day and night temperatures of Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra would drop marginally.

Down South also, this trough might result in isolated rain and thundershower activities over North Interior Karnataka, Kerala and scattered rains could be a possibility over Telangana. Rest part of Southern Peninsula would be dry.
