To begin with North India, the Western Disturbance is now moving away eastwards, and northerly flow of winds has commenced over parts of Punjab, Haryana Delhi and Rajasthan. We expect light to moderate rain and snow to continue over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till tonight. Thereafter, there will be significant decrease in rains over the northern hills.
Due to cold and dry northwesterly winds, minimums of northwestern plains will fall by 2˚C to 3˚C. Remnants of the passing weather system may also give isolated rains over parts of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. Air quality of Delhi-NCR has come under good to moderate category and we do not expect Delhi’s Pollution to comeback anytime soon.
Moving to east and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation lies over Jharkhand and its adjoining region. In fact, a trough is extending from West Uttar Pradesh up to this circulation. Therefore, we expect good rain and thundershowers to occur over many parts of Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Bihar and Jharkhand. Another cyclonic circulation is over the northeastern states. Weather over the northeastern states will remain mainly dry with isolated rains over Sikkim and Assam.
