A fresh Western Disturbance is approaching and now lies over North Pakistan and is likely to move further eastward. The upper air trough is extending up to upper troposphere level. Its induced Cyclonic Circulation has formed over Southwest Rajasthan and Central Pakistan. A trough is seen extending between these two systems. Rain and snow are likely to intensify with moderate spells at many places of Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh. Hailstorm activity can also be seen over these regions. While, Uttarakhand might witness light rain and snow activity.
Rise in minimums is expected over most parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Shallow fog/mist is likely at many places. Rain and thundershower activities might start over some parts of West Punjab and extreme North Rajasthan by the late evening of January 20. It will eventually cover the other parts of the states.
Day temperatures can see a rise but will remain comfortable. Since the winds are light in nature, haziness would persist. The national territory might see a rise in pollution levels as well.
In East/Northeast India, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Tripura and adjoining Southeast Bangladesh. Due to the presence of northeast winds, very light rains might be observed at few places of Arunachal Pradesh and adjoining Assam. Rest states would witness dry weather with shallow to moderate fog during morning hours.

Heading to Central India, states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra would witness rise in morning temperatures. Sky might become partly cloudy at few places with comfortable day in offing.
Down South, a trough is extending from Southeast Arabian Sea up till Karnataka coast. Another trough is seen extending from Southeast Bay of Bengal to adjoining Sri Lanka coast. There are chances of light rain in pockets of Southeast coastal station of Tamil Nadu and Coastal Kerala. North Andhra Pradesh coast might witness fog during early morning hours.
Dry and comfortable weather with moderate breeze would be seen over the parts of South Peninsula. Moderate rains could be seen over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
