Weather Forecast Jan 19: Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh to see good rains and thundershowers

Starting with east india an induced Cyclonic Circulation lies over Assam. And an upper air trough is extending from this system up to Gangetic West Bengal due to which Arunachal Pradesh will see light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places. While other northeastern states like Assam, Nagaland and Meghalaya will receive light rain or thundershowers. Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are also very likely to receive light rain at isolated places.

Remnants of the induced Cyclonic Circulation in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal are likely to give short spells of light rain and thundershowers at isolated places. The system is now moving away in east-northeast direction also the incursion of northwesterly winds is happening over the eastern states. Therefore, fog is a high probability in many parts of Bihar, North Jharkhand and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh.
 
Up in the north the remnants of the Western disturbance over the northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir may give light rain or snowfall at isolated places mainly over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. In the wake of this system, the northwesterly cold winds are also affecting Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Due to high moisture content, moderate to dense fog is likely to be observed at several places in the plains of  Northwest India. The night temperature will decrease marginally while the day temperature will rise by a few degrees.

Coming to central India in the wake of the Cyclonic Circulation and upper air trough over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh region, light rain is a possibility at isolated places. The weather is likely to remain almost dry and cold over the northern and western parts of Madhya Pradesh. Foggy conditions will be affecting the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh and but the latter half of the day will be pleasant and comfortable.
 
Down south Due to an anti-cyclonic Circulation over Vidarbha and adjoining South Chhattisgarh, the northeasterly and easterly moist winds are affecting the southern states of the country. Due to the presence of these moist winds, light rain or thundershower would be observed at isolated places in Rayalseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. While the weather of Karnataka and Maharashtra will remain almost dry.
