Weather Forecast Jan 10: Cold day conditions likely over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan

Beginning with North India, the Western Disturbance has now moved away therefore, the weather of hills as well as Northern Plains will remain dry. Cold winds from North have already dropped the minimum temperatures across Northwest India. Now, we expect minimums of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will drop further. Isolated pockets of Haryana and Rajasthan may come under Cold Wave conditions. Cold day conditions are also expected to persist over many parts of Punjab, Haryana and at isolated of pockets of Delhi.

Coming on to Central India, the North-south Trough, which was giving rains over East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh has weakened, therefore, entire Central India will experience dry weather. Minimum temperatures of Gujarat, most parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, as well as Chhattisgarh may drop further by 2 to 3 degrees leading to wind chill in many parts. Day will remain sunny with a clear sky.

Talking about East India, where cold northwesterly winds are blowing across eastern parts of the country. Thus, weather will go dry. Night temperatures of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal may drop by two to three degrees. Day temperatures may rise marginally. Also, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Assam. Therefore, light rains may continue over multiple parts of Northeast India.

Lastly in South India, an anti-cyclone is over Telangana and adjoining areas. Therefore, weather of entire South Peninsula is expected to remain dry. Minimums of Telangana and North Karnataka may drop marginally but there will not be any significant change over rest parts of South India. Major cities including Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad will all remain dry.
