At present, rain activity is only confined to parts of Northeast and Peninsular India. Let us have a look at the weather conditions across the country.

A cyclonic circulation is prevailing over Comorin region and adjoining Arabian Sea and a trough can be seen extending from this across Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
With this rain activity will pick up further and good rainfall activity will continue over the Peninsular India.

Another cyclonic circulation is seen in North Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. The system continues to get more marked and is likely to intensify into a low pressure area after next 48 hours.
Heavy rainfall can be expected over Andaman and Nicobar Islands in wake of this system.

Up in the Northeast region, a trough is extending from Arunachal Pradesh up to Northeast Bay of Bengal across Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura. The system is likely to become less marked, which will lead to significant drop in rain activity over the region. However, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal may get some isolated good showers.

Moving on to North India, feeble Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir will bring light rain over hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Anti-cyclonic circulation is seen over Gujarat and Rajasthan region and is getting more-marked. This will further influence withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from more parts of Northwest India any time now.

In wake of this, most parts of northwestern plains, central and East India will witness dry weather conditions.
